Socialists and Allies Dominate 255 Municipalities in Venezuela


Caracas, Dec 11 (Prensa Latina) The final balance of the Venezuelan municipal elections, made on December 8, stands today in the hands of the Socialists and their allies 255 municipalities of a total of 337 in dispute, the National Electoral Council (CNE) informed.The report says that the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) 241, while allied forces with the revolution contributed with other 14 mayors charges.Meanwhile the right, represented in the so-called Bureau of Democratic Unity and in parties out of that block, won 82, completing thus the political scene after the vote.Thus, the PSUV and the Great Patriotic Pole have 76 percent of the municipalities, while the first of these organizations was established as the main political force in the country.Along with that, “chavism” has 75 percent of the municipal councils in the country (with a total of 2.455 members) and a gap in the vote of 10 percent in their favor against the opposition.

According to analists, the revolutionary alliance recovered positions by taking into account that in the presidential elections of April 14 the difference was only 1.5 percent.
